Raptr, the social platform for people who like to play and discover games, today announced the launch of the Raptr Partners Program available at http://partners.raptr.com. This comprehensive program gives partner companies free, turnkey solutions to make the entire process of reaching consumers and keeping them engaged with their games easier. Today, leading game companies including Sony Online Entertainment, NHN USA, Gala-Net, and GamesCampus as well as hardware companies Razer and Bigfoot Networks announced their participation in the Raptr Partners Program. Raptr’s potential reach will exceed over 10 million players with these latest relationships.
The Raptr Partners Program consists of several key components:
Distribution of a co-branded Raptr client that comes bundled with the game, demo, and future patches to provide an indispensible gaming utility for users and a platform to communicate with them.
Integration with Raptr APIs to surface game data such as player stats, achievements, rankings, and progress to keep users actively engaged even when they’re not playing.
Use of the Raptr platform and its social media integration to reach users on top services such as Facebook and Twitter.
Co-marketing activities to generate interest and excitement around partners’ products.
Users receive a host of benefits once they join Raptr, including the ability to know when and what games their friends are playing across various gaming platforms as well as the ability to instant message with their friends. Users share their progress in games, such as their stats, rankings, achievements, and characters simply by adding their game identity to Raptr. Users are also able to automatically broadcast their gaming activity to their friends on Raptr and other social sites including Facebook and Twitter, thus exposing a larger number of people to that publisher’s games and leading to higher awareness, trial, and purchase of those games.
Raptr is working with leading publisher Sony Online Entertainment to help them spread the word about their games. Raptr plans to work with Sony Online Entertainment on a number of titles from its catalog of subscription-based and free-to-play premium PC games. “Raptr’s consumer-friendly service and seamless integrations with the top social networks provide an easy way for us to reach new players in a very natural way,” said Louis Figueroa, Executive Director of Business Development, Sony Online Entertainment. “Raptr makes it simple for players to let their friends know when they’re playing our games, something that helps drive more interest and awareness of our titles.”
Raptr is already working with NHN USA to distribute games hosted at their ijji.com portal, but today Raptr is announcing partnerships with two more top free-to-play game publishers. Gala-Net will distribute Raptr to players of their games on their gPotato portal and GamesCampus will work with Raptr on games hosted at their sports-focused portal.
Not just limited to working with games companies, Raptr is also working with hardware companies. Raptr recently partnered with Razer, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, to provide Razer’s millions of customers the ability to seamlessly join Raptr’s community and build friendships, compete, and connect while gaming. Raptr is also working with Bigfoot Networks and will be bundled with the Bigfoot’s Killer NIC™ gaming network cards.
“We’re thrilled to be working with some of the largest and most respected companies in the video game industry,” said Dennis Fong, CEO of Raptr. “Our new Raptr Partners Program not only allows game companies to reach new audiences but also gives them the ability to keep existing players engaged with their games by surfacing interesting in-game achievements via Raptr’s simple APIs.”
